“To reduce alcohol and drug abuse amongst young Aboriginal people in the Echuca and surrounding areas by providing a safe and culturally specific healing environment.”
Baroona is a farm house based in the middle of 320 acres located a 10 minute drive just outside of Echuca.
Participants will be encouraged to create their own Healing Journey by empowering the individual to identify their strengths, networks, cultural identity & sense belonging. This will be achieved through individual counseling & group work.

Healthy Life style choices
Traditional & Contemporary Healing ways
Recreational activities will include a pool table, table tennis & gymnasium. Arts & craft such as painting, pottery, jewelry making & wood works like making traditional artifacts will also be offered.
The Baroona Youth Healing Place is a safe and confidential place for young people aged between 14 –22 yrs. The centre offers a 16 week Residential Journey to Heal the Spirit.The stay is then followed by a Post Support Program over a time decided by staff and the young person themselves.
The key Stepping Stones in the program include a range of cultural & spiritual programs, services, & activities which are appropriate & flexible to address and prevent substance abuse, in our own way.

PLEASE NOTE: Young people who would like to start their Healing Journeys at the Baroona Youth Treatment Centre must have completed their withdrawal process at an approved withdrawal unit prior to becoming a resident. If you need more info on detox places please feel free to contact us.
